Bitcoin mining is warming a complete city in Finland because of a brand new challenge by the world’s largest Bitcoin mining firm.
Marathon Digital Holdings has launched a pilot challenge that makes use of the recycled warmth from Bitcoin BTCUSD mining to heat the homes of over 11,000 residents.
The two-megawatt pilot challenge, positioned within the Satakunte area, was introduced in a June 20 X publish:
“In Finland, we launched a 2-megawatt pilot project to warm a community of 11,000 residents with recycled heat from digital asset computing.”

The Finland-based facility marks Marathon’s first district heating-based pilot challenge within the Euro space.
